  1. Identity & contact data: name, email, job title, employer, LinkedIn URL, city/country.
  2. Professional profile: years of experience, areas of AWS interest, community group membership, application data for invite‑only groups.
  3. Event data: registrations, waitlists, attendance, dietary needs, accessibility requirements, badge/label information and QR codes, photos and recordings taken at events.
  4. Communications: messages you send us, feedback forms, surveys, support requests.
  5. Technical data: IP address, device/browser info, cookies and analytics data.
  6. Marketing preferences: your consent choices for email, social and sponsor outreach.

  1. Directly from you via our website forms, email, or at events.
  2. From platforms you use to interact with us (e.g., Meetup, LinkedIn, YouTube, SurveyMonkey). We receive limited data from these platforms according to their privacy settings and your choices.
  3. From organisers/venues for event operations and safety.

  6. Analyse anonymised/aggregated engagement to improve what we do; and

  1. Service providers / processors (e.g., website hosting, email, analytics, ticketing/registration tools, survey tools, printing/badge services, and photo/video production) under appropriate contracts;
  2. Event venues and co‑organisers for access control and safety;
  3. Speakers and volunteers where required to run an event (e.g., name lists);
  4. Sponsors only where: (i) you’ve explicitly opted‑in for sponsor contact; or (ii) sharing is necessary to deliver a benefit you request (e.g., a prize giveaway) and we’ll tell you at the time;

  1. Event records: up to 5 years after the event (unless a longer period is needed for legal claims);
  2. Marketing contact data: until you unsubscribe or your email bounces;
  3. Financial/transactional records: 6–7 years as required by law.

When no longer needed, data is securely deleted or anonymised.

You have the right to request: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object to processing (including direct marketing).
