Backend in the Age of Serverless
Drawing from real-world projects, including MVPs and production apps built with AWS, I’ll share a practical decision-making framework for choosing your stack with a focus on architecture and AWS services.
How We Built an Ai-Powered Code Reviewer With Serverless and Bedrock
How hard can it be to build an AI-powered code reviewer using modern LLMs? Easier than you think – until it isn’t! Yan recently helped a client launch an AI-powered code reviewer. They built the initial prototype in the first few hours. But they soon encountered many unexpected challenges as they tried to productionize the idea into a coherent user experience.
In this session, let’s hear the surprises, challenges, and lessons learned from building an AI-powered code reviewer and what it can tell us about the current state of LLM technologies.

Building a Serverless Podcast Workflow: Adventures with AI
I’ll go through a practical example of using AI & Serverless to achieve a business outcome related to the automation of content creation. I’ll talk about a number of serverless tools and how you can use them to create multi-step workflows. I’ll also give actionable tips & tricks on using Amazon Bedrock.
Harness Generative AI Creativity With Automated Reasoning
Large language models excel at generating creative solutions, while automated reasoning tools enable rigorous verification. This session explores methodologies for combining these complementary strengths to create more reliable AI systems.
We’ll introduce automated reasoning using open source tools and demonstrate how formal methods can guide and constrain generative AI. By fusing probabilistic and symbolic approaches, we’ll show how to build hybrid systems that maintain creative capabilities while ensuring verifiable outputs.

Amazon’s Cloud Control API promises a unified way to manage AWS resources, but gaps in coverage and metadata can make full automation challenging. In System Initiative, we leveraged Cloud Control API to dynamically generate all the necessary assets for seamless AWS integration—while also finding ways to work around its limitations.
This talk explores how we automated asset generation, the challenges we encountered with incomplete API support, and how we supplemented missing data using AWS CloudFormation resource specifications.
Attendees will gain practical strategies for automating cloud integrations while ensuring reliability, extensibility, and a first-class user experience.
